I’ve built an organic following of approximately 185,000 on LinkedIn, and over 98% of the $1.5 million+ in sales from my coaching practice have come from this platform. But here’s the truth: these strategies aren’t LinkedIn-specific. I’ve seen clients take the same principles to other platforms and achieve similar results. No platform is magical—if you can master one, you can master them all—if you know how to think.

To make this actionable for you, I’ve linked a spreadsheet you can use to dissect your audience, derive content ideas, and practice writing powerful headlines. Think of it as your Build-A-Bear for content creation: get to know your audience inside and out, then build posts that feel like conversations with a real person.

First, build your target audience & persona.

Remember Build-A-Bear? That store where you could pick a furry friend and customize everything—its scent, sounds, outfit, maybe even a voice recording? Think of your audience the same way.

Most content fails because it’s generic. People aren’t speaking to a person—they’re talking to a vague crowd. But if you build your audience like a Build-A-Bear, every post will land.

Give your audience:

  • A style

  • A slang, an accent, a culture

  • A personality (yes, multiple traits—make them fully human)

  • Habits, thoughts, and mindset

  • Skills they have and skills they lack

Every time you write, picture that one person. Give them tough love. Encourage them. Motivate them. Challenge their limiting thoughts. Help them strengthen the skills they have and guide them on the ones they’re missing. Focus on that, and nothing else.

Give them a name, make them real. Every post should feel like a conversation with them.

Then, start recycling these four posts weekly to keep your pipeline full.

Each type of post serves a specific purpose:

  1. Educational Post: To build authority and generate sales

  2. Inspirational Post: To expand reach

  3. Storytelling/Personal Post: To drive reach, connection, and credibility

  4. Social Proof/Sales Post: To create conversions
